About Our Society

Saint Andrew's Societies are organizations dedicated to celebrating Scottish heritage and culture. They exist worldwide, with many located in the United States. Some societies limit membership to people of Scottish descent, while others are more inclusive. Their activities often include social gatherings, charitable work, and efforts to preserve Scottish traditions.
Saint Andrew's Societies have a long history, with some of the earliest ones forming in the 18th century. The Saint Andrew's Society of Charleston, South Carolina, founded in 1729, is considered one of the first in the US. The Saint Andrew’s Society of Atlanta was formed in 1972, more than 50 years ago!
Saint Andrew's Society of Atlanta
Founded in 1972, the Saint Andrew’s Society of Atlanta is a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to celebrating and preserving Scottish heritage and culture in the Southeastern United States. Through fellowship, philanthropy, and tradition, we bring together individuals who share a passion for Scotland’s rich history, customs, and contributions to the modern world.
Our members support a wide range of educational and charitable initiatives, including scholarships, cultural events, and assistance to those of Scottish descent in need. From traditional Highland games and formal gatherings to community outreach and historic commemorations, the Society fosters a spirit of camaraderie rooted in honor, service, and legacy.
If you are of Scottish descent and have a love for Scottish culture, we invite you to explore our site and discover how you can become a part of our enduring mission.
